Fall 2014 Reading List

I may have mentioned this on the blog before, but I'm a major reader. Though it may not always be books, I'm constantly reading articles, magazines, blogs, or newspapers on my iPad. Books, though, will always be my favorite.

Since getting close to working full-time with various freelance jobs, I've lost time to simply lay in bed and read. Normally I'll stay up until one or two o'clock trying to finish up a blog post or something for work, when I used to spend that time reading. For instance, I've had By Invitation Only, written by the co-founders of Gilt Groupe, on my reading list for months. It still has yet to be opened, but I'm hoping that in the next week I can get my hands on it.

Over the next few weeks and months (I know making time is a constant work-in-progress!) I want to cross a few books off of my reading list that I'm dying to read! Amy Poehler's book Yes Please comes out later this month and I can't wait for that one - I'm sure it'll be brilliant. After reading Gone Girl, I think my next Gillian Flynn book will be Dark Places. I love her ability to twist a plot line. Tory Burch is also coming out with a book, and it may not be a typical reading book, but I bet it's full of photos I could just stare at for hours. My former boss Lara Casey from Southern Weddings Magazine just wrote a book called Make It Happen that is coming out in December (on her birthday!) and I know it'll be great - pick it up if you want a kickstarter to reaching your goals!

I also have Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham, One More Thing - Stories and Other Stories by BJ Novak, and of course, By Invitation Only by Alexis Maybank and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson on my list too.

Are you the reading type? What books are you excited for? Does anyone have reviews or words of advice for the books on my list? I'm excited about most, but a bit nervous about getting through The Goldfinch - I've heard it's a tough read!
